Rocks and Reflections
“Rocks and Reflections” 6 x 6 inch oil on panel
I have had this reference photo stashed away for about two years. I took it on a summer camping trip to the Sol Duc River on the Olympic Peninsula here in Washington state. For the last year, I have been homeschooling my kids and my art was put on hold, but I pulled my tarot cards the other day and much to my delight, they practically screamed at me to get going in my studio again. I’m so glad I did! I feel a new energy flowing!

"Toppings" 12 x 12 inch oil on panel
I'll admit that I was intimidated to paint this. The glass coupled with the partial opacity of the icing clinging to it, the whisk......and the zillions of sprinkles had me sweating a bit. I am so glad that I finally delved into it, however. I learned a lot and I really like the result! The cookies were good too!

"Water Colors" 9 x 12 inch pastel on archival paper
The shadows thrown across the whitewater is what really drew me to paint this image. I enjoyed developing the color scheme so much that I plan to do a larger oil painting of it so that I'm not limited to the range of color offered by my set of pastels.
