Sunlit Walk

"Sunlit Walk"
16 x 12 inch oil on linen panel

The last few years have been very difficult for everyone. For me, the stress seemed to dampen my creative spark. That ends now. I'm back!!

Rocks and Reflections

“Rocks and Reflections” 6 x 6 inch oil on panel

I have had this reference photo stashed away for about two years.  I took it on a summer camping trip to the Sol Duc River on the Olympic Peninsula here in Washington state.  For the last year, I have been homeschooling my kids and my art was put on hold, but I pulled my tarot cards the other day and much to my delight, they practically screamed at me to get going in my studio again.  I’m so glad I did!  I feel a new energy flowing!

"Toppings" 12 x 12 inch oil on panel

I'll admit that I was intimidated to paint this.  The glass coupled with the partial opacity of the icing clinging to it, the whisk......and the zillions of sprinkles had me sweating a bit.  I am so glad that I finally delved into it, however.  I learned a lot and I really like the result!  The cookies were good too!

"Water Colors" 9 x 12 inch pastel on archival paper

The shadows thrown across the whitewater is what really drew me to paint this image.  I enjoyed developing the color scheme so much that I plan to do a larger oil painting of it so that I'm not limited to the range of color offered by my set of pastels.

My garden was humming with bees this summer.  I spied this little one on her way to work!

I was a bit intimidated to paint this, but I’m so glad I did! I feel like I really took a step forward with this one! Hooray for pushing out of the comfort zone!
