This painting was a breakthrough for me in painting trees.  I feel that I was really able to achieve the depth in the foliage that I was going for.

I really enjoyed painting this one.  It was satisfying to paint these wide open blooms relatively loosely and in a slightly larger format.

I am really enjoying playing with backlit subjects lately.  I was slicing lemons for iced tea as the afternoon sunlight was coming through my kitchen windows, creating this dramatic lighting.

I recently had a bad cold which put me on the couch for a few days.  I am usually an active person so when I finally got to go on a hike this weekend, I was thrilled!  Fall is my favorite season of the year and hiking in the woods is my favorite thing to do....besides paint!
