My family was on a hike during this last Easter weekend and I saw this woman hiking solo.  I was instantly drawn to the figure caught in the sunlight and the mood the solo hiker sets.

This painting is another of my abstract pieces. I find that each one is an expression of my feelings at the moment and because each piece evolves as I paint it, an expression of the moment itself. The horizontal and vertical lines in this piece cut through the softness in the background in a very satisfying way. I liken it to taking the perfect slice out of a cake

Okay.  It was time to stretch out of my comfort zone and try my hand at abstracts.  I have had a strong desire to do some for a long time and I decided that today was the day!
