"Head in the Clouds" 12 x 12 inch oil on panel

This painting is another of my abstract pieces. I find that each one is an expression of my feelings at the moment and because each piece evolves as I paint it, an expression of the moment itself. The horizontal and vertical lines in this piece cut through the softness in the background in a very satisfying way. I liken it to taking the perfect slice out of a cake

Okay.  It was time to stretch out of my comfort zone and try my hand at abstracts.  I have had a strong desire to do some for a long time and I decided that today was the day!

Painting rocks under the water's surface is always a fun challenge!

"Low Tide" 16 x 20 inch oil on panel

My family went on a camping trip in January (yes, we're crazy weirdos who love to go freeze our butts off...haha) and the tide was way out when we took our beach walk.  I found the tracks that the water left behind intriguing.

"Slash Pine Forest" 60 x 20 inch oil on panel

The final painting in a series of three depicting different facets of the Everglades ecosystem.  I really enjoyed painting this one.  It just fell off of my brush!  I love using opposing directional qualities with my brush strokes and with the large shapes in my paintings and this one really allowed me to do just that!

"Sawgrass Prairie"  60 x 20 inch oil on panel

This is the second piece in a series of three that I am working on for a client.  I am really enjoying the serenity of these landscapes.
