This painting was great fun to do!  I enjoy the contrast between the gauzy, delicate hibiscus petals and the almost alien looking bud.

My brother-in-law is one of those nuts who loves to travel around and climb mountains.  Ha, ha.  He took the reference photo for this painting on one of his adventures.

I loved painting this piece.  Chexter is such a special horse with a beautiful, kind spirit.  I was honored to have the opportunity to immortalize him!

I was recently commissioned to paint this piece.  I have never actually painted a silhouette before and I found the simply "black" areas a little boring until I began painting the dust floating in the air. The dust is now my favorite part of the painting!😂

"Backyard Daisies" (20 X 8 oil on gessoboard)

These daisies are a familiar sight to anyone living in the Pacific Northwest.  I love to see their cheerful faces in the spring!

Wow!  It's been over a week since I've posted!  We had a wonderful 4th of July and also took a trip to see family in Ferndale, WA.  Our family loves to take walks so I had many opportunities to take reference photos.  These were growing in front of a beautiful little beach house.
